Unlike typical campaign interns, Blue Lab Associates are given the opportunity to do real, meaningful work directly with the candidates we support. Our associates and alumni come from over 40 different schools across the country and bring a wide set of skills to the table.
Blue Lab Summer 2019 Associates
Julianna is a second year at Simmons University studying political science and economics. On campus, she is a member of the Simmons IGNITE chapter, and a dedicated barista. Originally from NH, Julianna is excited to see the differences in the Mass state politics and work hard to create political change.
Hannah is a junior at Simmons University, double majoring in Political Science and International Relations. On campus she has served as the president of the Simmons chapter of IGNITE national, Treasurer of the class of 2021 and as a Student Senator. She also plays for the Women’s Rugby Team. A New Hampshire native, she is passionate about state politics, electing progressive candidates and advocating for social change!
Chloe is a rising sophomore at George Washington University studying International Affairs and Sustainability. On campus she is a member of the Bipartisan Women’s Supper Club and the International Affairs Society. Chloe is excited to get involved with local political campaigns!
Vigunthaan is a junior at Boston University pursuing a joint BA/MA in political science. A former photo editor at The Daily Free Press, BU's independent student newspaper, he now sits on the paper's Board of Directors, focussing on staff development. Vig is excited to build on his campaign experience through his work with The Blue Lab this spring!
Gillian is entering her senior year at Simmons University, where she is studying political science, art, and journalism. She is passionate about the impact policymakers can have in protecting vulnerable populations, and is excited to use her experience working at the Massachusetts Statehouse to assist at the Blue Lab. She is excited to work with and learn from this organization!
Meriel is from Gloucester MA and is currently a junior at The Governor’s Academy High School. She’s interested in politics and is hoping to make a meaningful impact this summer.
Eva is a sophomore at Wellesley College, studying International Relations and Political Science. On campus, she is a part of Wellesley's Asian Student Union and The Wellesley Globalist, an International Affairs publication. She is excited to bring her experience and enthusiasm working in a Congressional office to the Blue Lab.
Maeve is an incoming senior from the University of Delaware studying International Relations. In the past, she has worked on Congressman Seth Moulton's re-election campaign and currently sits on the Executive Board for her sorority. Maeve is passionate about women's rights, accessible education, and voter involvement. She’s excited to work for The Blue Lab and help women, minorities, and first-time candidates get elected!
Julia is a rising senior studying Political Science and French at Tufts University, returning from a semester abroad in Paris. With a passion for election politics and strategy as well as the inner workings of local governments, she is very excited to start as an intern for The Blue Lab. On campus, Julia works as a student fundraiser, a tour guide for undergraduate admissions, and the director of social media for a Sexual Health and Education taskforce at Tufts.
Eleanor is a freshman pursuing a degree in International Studies at Boston College. Originally from Newburyport, MA, on campus she is a member of the Women's Varsity Rowing team and Model U.N. She is excited to be working with a great team on creating modern campaigns and real political change in Massachusetts.
Tim is a rising Sophomore at Tufts University's School of Arts and Sciences, studying Political Science and Economics. In his free time, he serves on the Tufts student senate as a committee chair and explores Boston. Before arriving at Tufts, Tim spent a gap year serving with the AmeriCorps through City Year, where he tutored and mentored 3rd graders in Southeast Washington, DC.
Chris Grondin is a rising Second Year at the University of Vriginia. He is studying in Economics and Government, with hopes to go to law school. In his free time, he enjoys photography, graphic design, and working on his car. Chris is very interested in politics, and excited to get the most out of his time at the Blue Lab!
Michelle received her Bachelor's Degree in Global and Cultural Communications from Suffolk University in 2019. She is excited to make long-term strategic communications campaigns inclusive and accessible, and she envisions a future where our democracy is truly representative of all American people.
Benjamin Mallinger is a Boston native, and a rising senior at Lafayette College where he studies Government and Law. After spending his spring semester studying International Relations in Paris, he has returned to his home state to make an impact in democratic politics.
Andrew is interested in making an impact in Massachusetts through working on campaigns and understanding the community around him. He is planning to attend law school after graduation. Andrew currently is in the professional pre-law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta at Syracuse University. Fun fact: Joe Biden is one of his 'brothers'.
Louisa Purinton is a rising senior at The Governors Academy. At her school she is a member of clubs such as, SWAGA (strong women at The Governors Academy), environmental club, and a member of student council. Louisa is eager to join the Blue Lab to learn more about the inner workings of politics in Massachusetts.
Abigail is a rising junior at Simmons University where she is studying Economics and International Relations and minoring in French. On campus, she is the president of French Liaison and the Treasurer of the Political Science and International Relations Liaison. She is very excited to help candidates bring positive political change to the state of Massachusetts.
Max is a Junior political science major at Saint Anselm College. He plays on the golf team at school, his favorite TV show is The Office, and last summer he worked for Ed Markey in Boston. Max is excited to get to work at The Blue Lab this year!
Melina is a rising senior at The Governor's Academy High School in Byfield, Massachusetts. She writes for the school newspaper and helps organize student debates and political discussion forums on campus. Melina has a passion for social justice and is excited to work at The Blue Lab this summer.
Saleena is a recent graduate from Suffolk University where she studied Law & Public Policy and Sociology. In 2018, she was a fellow with the Asian American Women's Political Initiative, a non-profit that aims to create a pipeline for Asian American women in government. She is a passionate advocate for social justice and diversity and inclusion and she aims to combine these passions into a future career.
Dimitris is a rising senior at Boston College majoring in Political Science and minoring in Philosophy. He has worked at a law firm in Kuala Lumpur for the past two summers, and plan to attend law school in the fall of 2020. He grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and attended boarding school in the UK before coming to Boston. Dimitris is incredibly excited to be able to get involved with the political processes at the Blue Lab this summer.
Nik is a junior at the University of Rhode Island where he studies International Studies and Diplomacy, as well as German. On campus he is a captain of the Men's Volleyball Team. Originally from Germany, he has lived in San Diego as well as in the Boston area, and is excited to engage in the Massachusetts political process with The Blue Lab.
